Following the grand opening of the $640 million Parq Vancouver urban resort, Able Auctions conducted a public liquidation auction on November 7 at the former Edgewater Casino premises at Vancouver's Plaza of Nations.
Bidding on a Decade of Vancouver Gaming History
Operating on False Creek from 2005 until late 2017, Edgewater Casino served as a familiar downtown landmark for residents and international travelers alike. Following the relocation of its gaming licenses to the adjacent Parq complex, hundreds of unique items were cataloged for public sale.
The auction catalog featured an eclectic variety of commercial and collector assets:
- Authentic wooden roulette wheels and decommissioned custom blackjack tables (sans proprietary gaming felt).
- Commercial kitchen appliances, banquet tableware, and espresso equipment from the casino's restaurants.
- Neon entryway signage, architectural light fixtures, and vintage poker room memorabilia.
- High-end VIP lounge leather seating and executive furniture.
